Mientras que en España nos hemos acostumbrado a que los empleados de Inditex le den cariñosas muestras de afecto a Amancio Ortega, en el universo del lujo no nos cabe duda de que los trabajadores de Hermès se deshacen estos días en elogios hacia Axel Dumas, presidente ejecutivo de la marca. Por más que no es únicamente el lujo, sino el mundo en general, el que se encuentra sumido en un momento complicado, Hermès ha demostrado ser una de las pocas marcas que ha logrado mantenerse en tiempos de crisis, y al hacerlo, ha demostrado ser consciente de que su asset más rico no son sus codiciados bolsos, sino sus empleados.
Hemos hablado en muchas ocasiones acerca de cómo sus bolsos Birkin se comportan siempre en tiempos difíciles como auténticos lingotes de oro en los que invertir a sabiendas de que siempre se van a revalorizar. Hermès ha dado a conocer sus resultados de 2020, año en el que ha logrado 6.389,4 millones de euros, una cifra que supone únicamente un descenso del 7,18% respecto al anterior año y que se debe, según la propia firma, a la caída del turismo. Pese a las sutiles caídas, su flujo de caja neta ha aumentado 342 millones.
“La solidez de nuestros resultados refleja tanto el atractivo de nuestras colecciones como la agilidad de nuestro modelo de negocio basado en lo artesanal. Estoy orgulloso del trabajo realizado por todos los empleados de Hermès, que han demostrado valentía, solidaridad y compromiso, y doy las gracias igualmente a nuestros clientes por la fidelidad que nos han mostrado en todo el mundo”, asegura Axel Dumas mediante un comunicado.
Pese a la crisis en la que nos hallamos, Hermès incrementó su plantilla en 1.183 empleados, a los que el Grupo abonará a lo largo de este año un bono de 1.250 euros por su compromiso durante la pandemia. Fue durante los momentos más duros cuando el gigante francés mantuvo todos los puestos de trabajo y el salario base de todos sus empleados sin tener que recurrir para hacerlo a las ayudas gubernamentales. La conclusión final es que por más bolsos Birkin que tenga la empresa, su valor real radica en su capital humano.
